Map Types

MapViewer는 가장 정보성 있는 방법으로 여러분의 데이터를 표출하기 위해 다양한 지도 종류를 제공합니다. 대부분의 지도 유형들을 하나의 윈도우에 병합하여 하나의 지도에 여러 종류의 데이터를 표출할 수 있습니다. MapViewer는 다음과 같은 지도 종류를 포함합니다.

Base Maps

Base Maps은 아무런 데이터 표출없이 경계선을 포함합니다. Base Maps은 도로, 강, 도시 위치, 경계선 등과 같은 특징을 나타내기 위해 다른 지도를과 함께 사용할 수 있습니다.

 

Contour Maps

Contour Maps은 측정한 이산(discrete) 데이터를 취하여, 내삽하여 일정한 그리드 형태로 만든 다음, 상수 값들의 선형으로 디스플레이할 수 있습니다.

   

 

Vector Maps

Vector Maps은 측정한 이산 데이터로부터 일정한 그리드 형태로 만들어 화살표 모양으로 디스플레이할 수 있는데, 이 화살표는 그리드를 횡단하는 가장 가파른 경사의 방향과 크기를 나타냅니다.

   

 

Non-Contiguous Cartograms

Non-Contiguous Cartograms는 원래의 모양을 유지하면서 연관된 영역 오브젝트들의 크기를 변화시킴으로써 데이터 값들을 표현합니다.

   

 

Pin Maps

Pin maps은 지도에 측정 위치에 점을 그리는 점 위치 지도(point location maps)입니다.

Hatch Maps

Hatch Maps은 색깔을 이용하여 패턴들을 채워서 데이터 범위 혹은 데이터 종류들(Classed)의 위치를 표현합니다.

Density Maps

Density Maps은 "Dot Density Maps"이라고도 하며, 심볼을 이용하여 지도상의 영역에 대한 데이터 값을 표현합니다. Density Map상에서 각 심볼은 일부 데이터 값을 표현하여, 한 지역에 그려진 심볼의 수는 그 지역에 연계된 데이터 값에 관계됩니다.

Gradient Maps

Gradient Maps은 이산 데이터 포인트들 사이를 내삽(Interpolate)하여 칼라 범위를 연속적으로 디스플레이합니다.

Dorling Cartograms

통계지도(Cartograms)은 연계된 영역 오브젝트의 크기를 변경함으로써 데이터 값을 표현합니다. Dorling Cartogram은 원래의 모양을 원형으로 대체합니다.

Symbol Maps

Symbol Maps은 지도상의 영역, 곡선, 점의 위치에 눈금이 있는 심볼을 그립니다. 영역 혹은 점을 위해 표현된 데이터 값의 비율에 따라 심볼의 비율이 달라집니다.

Territory Maps

Territory Maps은 오브젝트들을 구역안으로 그룹화하여 오브젝트들의 각 셑과 관계된 데이터들에 관한 통계 정보를 제공합니다.

Pie Maps

Pie Maps은 각 지역에 따라 비례적인 크기로 파이 차트(Pie Chart)를 그림으로써 여러 데이터 값들을 표현하는 방법입니다.

Bar Maps

Bar Maps은 각 지역의 Bar chart를 그림으로써 여러 데이터 값들을 표현하는 방법입니다.

 

Line Graph Maps

Line Graph Maps은 각 중심 위치에서 데이터의 라인 그래프들을 보여줍니다. 하나의 라인 그래프를 봄으로써, 개별 데이터 값이 전체 데이터 셑에 어떻게 관련되는지 보실 수 있습니다.

Prism Maps

Prim Maps은 각기둥(Prism)을 올려서 각 영역, 곡선, 점들을 그립니다. 각기둥의 높이는 데이터 값과 관계됩니다. 색을 분류하여 각기둥 지도 경계선 오브젝트를에 할당할 수 있고, 이것은 하나의 지도상에 두개의 변수를 디스플레이할 수 있게 합니다.(즉, 각기둥의 높이와 색은 두 변수를 표현할 수 있음.)

Flow Maps

Flow Maps은 라인 두께에 기초한 데이터를 보여 줍니다. Flow Map 라인들은 하나의 Base 맵 오브젝트에서 다른 맵으로 그려지며, 흐름도(Flow Map)을 작성하기 위해 곡선의 Base 맵과 데이터 파일을 연관지을 수 있습니다.

 

MapViewer Boundary and Data Files

다음은 MapViewer에 포함된 경계선 및 데이터 파일들입니다. 이들 파일들은 폭넓고 다양한 지도들을 작성하기에 매우 유용합니다. MapViewer의 경계선 및 데이터 파일들을 Golden 소프웨어사의 웹 페이지로부터 다운받을 수 있습니다. 또한, 기존의 경계선을 합치거나 그리기 툴을 이용하여 여러분 자신만의 맟춤 경계선 및 데이터 파일을 만들 수 있습니다. MapViewer를 여러 다른 종류의 포맷을 불러올수 있고, 다른 응용프로그래에서 작성한 파일들도 사용할 수 있습니다.

MapViewer CD-ROM은 Golden 소프트웨어사가 제공하는 데이터 파일과 경계선 파일들 전체를 포함합니다.

City

  • AKcity.bna - WYcity.bna: point locations of cities in latitude/longitude coordinates
  • State_Capitols_48.bna, State_Capitols_50.bna - Locations of the state capitols of the 48 contiguous United States and of all states.
  • UScity.gsb - Locations of over 500 major US cities.
  • WorldCap.gsb - Locations of over 170 world capital cities.
  • WorldCity.gsb - Locations of over 280 cities of the world.
  • WorldCity.dat: contains latitude/longitude point locations of miscellaneous world cities in Golden Software Data [.DAT] format.

DLG

  • The DLG directory contains USGS 1:2,000,000 scale DLG files converted to the Golden Software Boundary [.GSB] file format.

US County 1990

  • AK.gsb-WY.gsb: 1990 county boundary files, primary IDs are FIPS codes
  • AK.dat-WY.dat: 1990 US Census data for each county
  • US48.gsb: map of the counties of the 48 contiguous United States based on 1990 county boundaries
  • US48.dat: 1990 US Census data for the 48 contiguous United States
  • AK-HiRes.gsb-WY-HiRes.gsb: high-resolution year 1990 county boundaries
